Privacy Policy for Monitoring and Response — Android

Application: Monitoring and Response

Platform: Android

Developer and service provider: walter hsieh

Effective date and last updated: September 10, 2026

1. Scope and purpose

This Privacy Policy applies specifically to the Android version of Monitoring and Response, package name com.w.objectdetection, published by walter hsieh. The App uses the device camera to detect objects selected by the user and can provide alarms, voice notifications, photos, or videos according to the user's settings.

2. Camera images and on-device detection

The App processes live camera frames on the device for object detection. It does not receive or upload camera frames to its own servers for detection. Camera access is required for preview, detection, and taking photos or videos.

3. Specific Person reference photo

If the user chooses the Specific Person feature, the selected reference photo and a derived comparison vector are stored in the App's private storage and used for on-device similarity comparison. They are not uploaded to a recognition server. This feature performs image similarity matching and is not identity verification. Users should select only photos they are authorized to use.

The App's copy of the reference photo and comparison vector can be deleted by long-pressing the displayed reference image, selecting the delete icon, and confirming. Deleting the App's copy does not delete the original image from the device photo library.

4. Photos, videos, microphone, and media files

Photos and videos created by the App are stored in Android media storage. If microphone permission is granted, recorded videos may include audio. Users can view, share, and delete App-created media through the App. Sharing transfers the selected file to an application chosen by the user. Android may request additional confirmation before deleting a media item.

Copies held by another application, a cloud photo service, or a backup service must be managed separately by the user. Uninstalling the App may not delete media stored in Android shared media storage.

5. Settings, voice text, and selected voice files

Target selections, detection thresholds, actions, voice text, and related preferences are stored on the device. A user-selected voice file is accessed only to play the configured alert. Removing the file selection from the App does not delete the source file.

Text-to-speech is provided by the speech service configured on the Android device. Depending on the selected service, installed voices, and device settings, that provider may download voice resources or process voice text online. That provider's privacy policy applies to its processing.

6. Advertising and third-party data processing

The App uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) to display advertising. According to Google's SDK disclosure, the SDK may automatically collect and share IP address information, which may be used to estimate general location, user product interactions, diagnostic information, and device or account identifiers for advertising, analytics, and fraud-prevention purposes. Google states that this data is encrypted in transit using TLS. The exact advertising behavior may depend on the user's region, consent choices, Android settings, and Google's services.

For more information, see the Google Privacy Policy and Google advertising technologies information.

7. Website and customer support

When a user opens the support website or this Privacy Policy, the website platform and hosting providers may process ordinary web request information such as IP address, browser or device information, cookies, and server logs. When a user contacts support, we processe the email address, message, and any information voluntarily included in the request in order to respond and resolve the issue.

8. Android permissions

  • Camera: camera preview, on-device detection, and photo or video capture.
  • Microphone: optional audio recording in videos.
  • Photos, videos, or media access: selecting a reference image and viewing, sharing, or deleting relevant media, subject to the Android version and system picker.
  • Internet and network state: advertising and opening support or privacy web pages.

Permissions can be withdrawn in Android Settings. Some corresponding features will be unavailable after a permission is withdrawn.

9. Data sharing and sale

We does not sell camera frames, reference photos, captured media, or App settings. Data may be processed by the third-party services described above, transferred to an application explicitly selected by the user for sharing, disclosed when required by law, or handled when necessary to protect users, the public, or legal rights.

10. Retention and deletion

  • App settings and the Specific Person reference remain on the device until the user deletes them, clears the App's data, or uninstalls the App, subject to Android backup and restore settings.
  • App-created photos and videos remain in Android media storage until the user deletes them. Copies held outside the App must be deleted separately.
  • Support correspondence is retained only as reasonably necessary to answer the request, maintain service records, meet legal obligations, or resolve disputes. Users may request deletion by contacting the support email, subject to applicable legal retention requirements.
  • Data processed by Google or another user-selected service is retained and deleted according to that provider's policy and user controls.

The App does not provide or require a user account.

11. Security

The App limits camera analysis and Specific Person comparison to on-device processing as described above and uses Android platform storage and permission controls. Internet links use HTTPS. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but reasonable safeguards are used for data under the developer's control.

12. Children's privacy

The App is not specifically directed to children. Users must comply with applicable law and have authority to use any reference photo or recorded media.

13. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when the Android App's features, third-party services, or legal requirements change. The updated text and revision date will be published at this URL.
